I work full-time as a Reiki Master. This involves teaching Reiki courses (Levels 1-4), both in-person and online, and also giving Reiki treatments. To fully honour to this work, my focus, my personal energetic quality, and to be fully present for the needs of my clients and students, I only offer a limited amount of treatment spaces per week.

Q: What are the benefits of Reiki?

Reiki is a holistic method of healing. This means it works on all the layers of the human-being together - the word holistic coming from the root word ‘whole’. Reiki works to support the mind, body, soul, and spirit ~ the physical body, the emotional body, the energetic body and the etheric body. It is a very intelligent healing method which will work on the areas where the client requires the most immediate healing, rebalancing or release.

Q: What can I expect during a session?

Even though I am working non-contact, you may still notice some feelings or sensations around the body. You may perceive some visual effects. You may release emotions. You may feel like you are drifting in and out of a dream-like/ sleep state - this is very similar to how we feel as we begin to wake up from sleep, or just as we begin to fall asleep. In this state the body is deeply relaxed and the mind begins to access deeper layers of consciousness. However, a Reiki session is different for each person, and it is better not to enter the space with too many expectations, and just to observe the experience. For some the session can be intense, for others more subtle. Often the results of the Reiki treatment can be more clearly observed in the days or weeks following the treatment.

Q: What can I expect after a session?

It’s advisable not to have anything planned for immediately after the session, or even better - clear your calendar for the rest of the day if possible. This will give you time to integrate the session well, and to optimise the immediate after-effects (usually deep relaxation). I recommend you drink plenty of water or tea (non caffeinated) after the session to assist your body with any detoxification process.

Q: How many treatments do I need?

This really depends on you, and what you are going through in this moment. Often one treatment can produce a noticeable effect which helps you to action positive changes in your life going forwards. If you are experiencing physical manifestations of dis-ease within the body, it may be beneficial to have more than one session to help accelerate the body’s natural healing process and defences. Again, if you are experiencing a major transition period or change in your life, and/ or intense emotional or mental distress; more than one session may be beneficial in supporting you through this moment in time. As the client, you are free to choose how often you come for a session, and I can also advise you on this individually. You may also benefit from learning Reiki yourself, so that you can give yourself regular self treatments.

Q: What should I wear?

I recommend that you wear warm and comfortable clothing, which is easy to lay down in.
